Awards

Early Career Achievement Medal

NASA

April 2024

This prestigious NASA medal is awarded to any government or non-government employee for unusual and significant performance during the first ten years of an individual’s career in support of the NASA mission. Performance is characterized by unusual initiative or a creative achievement that clearly demonstrates a significant contribution in the individual’s discipline area that directly contributes to NASA’s mission and goals. The contribution is significant, in that, for an employee who is at such an early phase of career, the contribution has substantially improved the discipline area.

Excerpt from Nomination:
Hamstrung with limited resources, lack of data accessibility and a limited toolset, she was able to develop a data pipeline, capable of ingesting over hundreds of data sets on a regular cadence, reducing errors significantly, improving security and saving hundreds of hours of labor hours. Once the data was in the database, she implemented transformation scripts turning the raw data into AIML ready curated data sets. Again, saving hundreds of hours data scientist would normally have to use to clean the data themselves. The achievements have been recognized and celebrated by peers and impacted groups across the Mission Support Directorate. She is regularly requested, by organization outside of OCHCO, to demo the pipeline and provide guidance on developing these pipelines in their organization. Her contributions have transcended the realm of technical implementation; they have fundamentally transformed the way business is conducted, leaving an indelible mark on various aspects of our operations.

Involvements

Membership Support Lead

Women of NASA (WON) Employee Resource Group

May 2022 – March 2024

During my two-year tenure as Membership Support Lead for the Women of NASA (WON) Steering Committee, I assisted with data analytics efforts in concert with the Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity (ODEO), membership surveys, and process enhancements. Initially, my role was intended to produce analytics concerning membership. However, recognizing ODEO's advanced enterprise-level initiatives, we shifted our strategy to complement their efforts. This involved exchanging crucial data and insights necessary for both parties, rather than duplicating efforts with limited resources. My responsibilities evolved as our organization prioritized event coordination for members. I collected event participation data, designed and distributed event surveys, and subsequently performed descriptive analytics and trend analysis to detect patterns and sentiments related to event participation, which streamlined the survey process from creation to analysis. As I refined event planning and agenda logging procedures, my role further diversified. Regrettably, I had to step down from the committee as my Master's program became more demanding, but I am eager to rejoin in the future and continue contributing to our community.
